The ARcare Wound Treatment Center provides specialized treatment of chronic or non-healing wounds. Non-healing wounds may be associated with a variety of medical comorbidities such as diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, venous insufficiency, and lymphedema. They can interfere with patients’ quality of life and can contribute to poor outcomes such as infection, amputation, and in some cases death if not properly treated. When wounds persist, specialized methods such as debridement, application of biologic dressings, negative pressure therapy and others offered at the ARcare Wound Treatment Center, may be required for optimal outcomes. Typically, a wound that does not respond to normal medical care within 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) is considered a problem or chronic wound and may benefit from advanced wound care.
