Live Your Best Life. Live Empowered.
Feelings of anger, loneliness and fear are often experienced by people living with HIV. Others may feel depressed or hurt. During group discussion, we learn from the strength, hope and experiences of others. Whether you are a long-term survivor or are newly diagnosed, there is a place for you to belong and feel empowered.
Feeling like you are the only one living with HIV? Would you like to share with others who are experiencing some of the same life challenges and issues? We encourage you to consider these ARcare resources:
Explore Our “Get Started” Page
If you are newly diagnosed with HIV or you just relocated to Arkansas from a different state, take a look at our Getting Started resources for help on connecting to HIV services in Arkansas. You can also find more information about financial assistance available through the Ryan White program.
Join a Discussion Group
Check out one of our peer-to-peer empowerment groups to meet, gain support, and develop friendships with others living with HIV in a safe, drug-free environment. Be a part of fun, engaging social activities to help your overall health and well-being. Groups are open to anyone living with or directly impacted by HIV. For information about groups available in your area, click the button below to contact us.
Connect through Shared Experiences
My HIV Story Project is a storytelling platform for people living with HIV that uses personal stories as a way to connect to and empower each other. To protect each contributor’s identity, names and selected details of some stories have been changed.
Become a Volunteer
Consider donating time as a Peer Advocate to provide encouragement to someone newly diagnosed. Or educate others about HIV and the importance of getting tested. Volunteers in almost any area are needed to help produce “Simply Red”, our annual event designed for and by people living with HIV in Arkansas to promote the value of treatment and healthy living. You can fill out an application to volunteer with us.
