ARcare Northeast Arkansas RSVP is serving your community by focusing on HEALTHY FUTURES, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, and OTHER COMMUNITY NEEDS
Volunteering activities include partnering with state and local programs to:
- Encourage healthy futures through education, and providing services
- Work with early age students to prepare them for school
- Work on short term or specific projects to meet other community needs
ABOUT RSVP: An Organization Like No Other
While there are many generous and willing volunteers eager to become involved in community service, often times there’s a disconnect between those who need help and those willing to provide it. NEA ARcare RSVP bridges that gap. Our mission is to promote volunteerism throughout a thirteen county area in Northeastern Arkansas.
RSVP BENEFITS
Our volunteers choose how, where, and how often they want to serve. In return for their work within their community, volunteers enjoy recognition events, free supplemental accident insurance, vehicle liability, personal liability, and multiple health benefits associated with volunteering.

About RSVP
RSVP is one of three National Senior Corp programs. It is one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation for people 55 and over. You can use the skills and talents you’ve learned over the years, or develop new ones while serving in a variety of volunteer activities within your community. Service opportunities are as diverse as the communities in which volunteers serve.
About Us
ARcare NEA RSVP is sponsored locally by ARcare, a private, non-profit corporation developed to provide affordable care to meet the primary medical needs of the residents in rural Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi. ARcare provides support for RSVP stations and volunteers throughout a thirteen county area.
Locations
Need
This service area is situated in the northeastern part of Arkansas known as the Delta. This well known agricultural Mecca flourished 30 to 40 years ago but has seen tremendous decline in the last few decades. Farming modernization, rising expenses, and foreign trade have led to a population shift, and left many areas below the national poverty level and in need of assistance.
Service
During 2019, ARcare NEA RSVP members volunteered over 17,500 hours of service. The number of volunteer hours is a testament to RSVP member’s generosity. Using Independent Sector’s value of volunteer time – $25.43 per hour, RSVP members’ volunteer service for 2019 is equal to around $445,025!
Want to get involved? Call us at 870-347-3457. We look forward to hearing from you!
BENEFITS
Recognition Events
Every year NEA ARcare RSVP holds numerous events both large and small to recognize our volunteer base. These events are a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow RSVP members and offer RSVP staff an opportunity to honor you and the work that you do.
Health Benefits of Volunteering
- Increase in self-esteem
- Lowered blood pressure
- Protection against social isolation
- Reduction in the impact of stress
- Strengthening of the immune system: A 1999 study by the University of Michigan identified health benefits to individuals who volunteered just one hour per week. The study demonstrates that “people live longer because they volunteer, rather than people volunteer because they’re healthier and hence more likely to live longer.”
Supplemental Insurance
As an RSVP member, you will be covered by supplemental insurance while you volunteer. The volunteer insurance program includes accident insurance and excess liability coverage.
Personalized Assistance
RSVP staff will work with you to identify a volunteer opportunity that will meet your individual interests. We will match your skills, interests, schedule and geographic availability with a volunteer position that is right for you. We will continue to be available to provide ongoing information and support as your volunteer needs evolve.
Be a Part of a National Movement
Active adults 55 years of age and older are giving thousands of hours daily to positively impact the communities they live in. Your hours will be counted with those of your peers to demonstrate to policy makers and the community the impact of age 55+ volunteerism on a local and national level. Help send the message that RSVP members are making meaningful contributions, solving problems and bringing our communities together.
